This method works on most Samsung Galaxy phones including A-series, M-series, S-series, Note, and Fold:
-
Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time.
-
After a few seconds, the Power menu will appear on the screen.
-
Tap Restart.
-
Confirm again by tapping Restart when prompted.
📱 On newer models, the Power button may be integrated with the Bixby button. Don’t worry — the process remains the same.
⚙️ Method 2: Restart from Quick Settings
If your phone is responsive and you prefer using the screen:
-
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
-
Tap the Power icon in the top-right corner.
-
Tap Restart, and then confirm again.
This is the safest method when your phone is functioning normally.
🔒 Method 3: Force Restart (When Phone is Frozen)
If your Samsung phone is unresponsive or stuck on a screen:
-
Press and hold the Power button + Volume Down button for 10 to 15 seconds.
-
Wait for the screen to go black.
-
Release the buttons when the Samsung logo appears.
This performs a force reboot and does not delete any data.
